Pushing out the envelope
Envelopes no longer needed in new ATMs
[June 16, 2008]
Have you used an STCU ATM lately? You may find that you don't need an envelope to make a deposit.
Nearly half of all STCU branch locations now provide advanced ATMs to accept your check and/or cash deposits without envelopes.
Envelope-free ATMs are easy to use. Watch the video to learn how.
Simply deposit your U.S. bills or checks directly into the machine. These high-tech ATMs are better because they...
- ...reduce mistakes by asking you to immediately verify every check or bank note.
- ...keep your records up to date by issuing you a scanned image of your check to take with you.
- ...take checks and U.S. bills. (Up to 99 bills in one transaction!)
- ...save time and paper.
- ...are surcharge-free to STCU members!
STCU's advanced ATMs are currently available at the following locations:
Eastern Washington University campus, Cheney
Post Falls Branch
Silver Lake Branch
Spokane Valley Branch
North Spokane Branch
Northtown Square Branch
Main Branch
Liberty Lake Branch
Cheney Branch
Newport Branch
How to use envelope-free ATMs
Follow these instructions to deposit your check or U.S. bills at an STCU advanced ATM.
Depositing checks
- Insert the check into the slot designated for "check deposits."
- Only one check can be deposited at a time.
- The ATM will scan your check and show an image of it on the screen.
- Enter the amount of the check before it is deposited to your account.
- An image of the check will be printed on your receipt.
- If you have another check, select the option to make another deposit.
- Holds on your check deposits may apply, according to STCU's Funds Availability Policy.
Depositing cash
- Insert up to 100 of your U.S. bills into the area designated for "cash deposits."
- The amount of each denomination deposited will be displayed on the ATM screen, giving you a total amount of your deposit.
- If you disagree with the ATM about the amount, cancel the transaction. Your cash will be returned to you.
- Otherwise, proceed with the deposit. A receipt will indicate the number of bills counted and the total amount deposited.
- Holds on your cash deposits may apply, according to STCU's Funds Availability Policy..
