It takes a lot of good people to make STCU the friendly, efficient place that it is.
You see many of those folks when you come into our branch locations. Others work behind the scenes, making sure our website functions properly, that our buildings are safe and clean, and that your money is never at risk.
Glen Hickman was one of those behind-the-scenes good guys.
Known to his colleagues for his competence, generosity and practical jokes, Glen was a computer network administrator for STCU for nearly 10 years.
He graduated from Shadle Park High School and earned bachelor's and master's degrees from Eastern Washington University.
Glen was a true Northwesterner, with a passion for the outdoors and a background that included work with the U.S. Forest Service. He stood in trout streams and at the top of Mount Rainier. He hiked through deep forests and alpine meadows. He enticed others to appreciate nature.
Glen would turn home-grown cucumbers into home-canned dill pickles to share with friends. He was a dedicated family man.
We're going to miss Glen, who lost a long battle with cancer on December 3. And we thought you might like to know a little about him, since it's people like Glen who make STCU a special place.
