Employees deliver $4,500 to beloved nonprofits

Three areas of giving: arts, education, and community

[December 20, 2011]

Three times in the past year, STCU has asked community members, "Who do you love?" Their votes sent credit union donations to seven organizations that help make the Inland Northwest a great place to live.

Now, with 2011 drawing to a close, we put the question to our employees: "Who do YOU love?" We asked them to select recipients for end-of-year contributions in our three areas of giving: education; arts and culture; and community.

Our 466 employees nominated more than 80 organizations. The three receiving the most votes will be surprised this week with $1,500 checks delivered by STCU employees:

  • Eastern Washington University Foundation.
  • Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture.
  • Spokane Humane Society.
Feeling the love, Eastern Washington University Foundation celebrates a $1,500 donation from STCU. Shown from left are EWU's Tim Szymanowski, Craig Fischer, Mike Westfall, Teresa Conway, Lisa Poplawski, with STCU's Robin Lewis and Duane Isaac, and, far right, EWU's Deb Blake and Leah Mow.
