Digital certificates expire annually

[Nov. 15, 2007]

This time last year we introduced a second layer of security to protect your access to STCU's NetTeller® home banking service. From private, trusted computers you were invited to install a free digital certificate to your computer, which spared you from having to answer secret questions when logging in. Those digital certificates expire annually, as an additional element of their protection.

What does that mean? Over the course of the next few months, digital certificate users may see the special screen below. This screen will alert them that their certificate has expired, and that it's necessary to download and install a new one, free of charge.

After renewing the digital certificate, users will then want to make sure to delete any old, expired digital certificates by following our simple, step-by-step process in STCU's Online Support Center.

There's nothing more convenient than online access to your STCU accounts -- as long as they're safe and secure. Taking these steps helps us assure your maximum protection!
